William Broman

William Broman is an attorney with Bejin Bieneman. Will’s assists clients with all aspects of their intellectual property including patent, trademark, and copyright matters. He primarily focuses on patent and trademark prosecution, and intellectual property litigation and dispute resolution. In addition to his intellectual property practice, Will volunteers with the Wayne County Prosecutor’s Office Conviction Integrity Unit, devoting time each month to investigate claims of innocence.

Will’s practice encompasses a range of technologies for industries such as automotive, medical devices and life sciences, and agriculture. His patent prosecution practice centers on the electromechanical and mechanical arts. On the litigation side, Will helps clients throughout the United States at all stages of the litigation process from pre-suit diligence through appeal. His research interests include the application of sovereign immunity in patent litigation, copyright issues related to fine art, and name, image, and likeness issues.

Prior to his legal career, Will was a product development engineer in the automotive and medical device industries. His engineering experience ranges from plastics to cardiovascular surgical devices. Will has significant experience developing products in accordance with FDA and international regulations and is an inventor on U.S. Patent No. 10,914,617. Will gained experience in the courtroom during law school assisting one of Detroit’s top criminal defense attorneys with two complex, multi-defendant, gang-related jury trials. One trial resulted in a jury verdict of not guilty.

Will earned his J.D. from Wayne State University. He earned his B.S. in Biomedical Engineering from George Washington University where he was a student-athlete for the Colonials. He is admitted to practice in the State of Michigan and before the United States Patent and Trademark Office.
